What are Industrial Water Chillers?
An industrial water chiller is an essential component for many industries, designed to cool down machinery and production systems that generate heat. It works by circulating refrigerant through a system that absorbs heat from the water or fluid being cooled.
The main role of a chiller is to maintain a consistent temperature, pressure and operating conditions in machinery ensuring efficient performance, longevity and reliability.

Which Industries use Water Chillers?
Water chillers are used by various sectors, for example:
PLASTIC MANUFACTURING – to cool processes involved in molding plastics.
ELECTRONICS – to provide precise temperature control to prevent damage to sensitive components during manufacturing processes.
FOOD INDUSTRY – to maintain temperatures for processing and storing foods.
CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING – to provide optimal conditions for chemical reactions, product stability and storage.
MEDICAL FACILITIES – to cool MRI machines and X-ray equipment.

Benefits of Process Cooling Systems
IMPROVED PRODUCT QUALITY – process cooling systems help to ensure consistent regulating temperatures preventing overheating. In some industries temperature control is essential for maintaining product quality.
COST EFFICIENT – reduce long-term costs by replacing external cooling systems and reducing energy consumption.
ENERGY EFFICIENT – increasingly recognised for their energy efficiency.
OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY – process cooling systems can be custom designed to support various production requirements maximising energy efficiency and response to changing market demands without significant downtime.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS – manufacturers can tailor cooling solutions to enable equipment to operate within optimal temperature ranges allowing quicker turnaround times and enhanced overall productivity.

← Air Cooled vs Water Cooled Chillers →
Air cooled chillers – easier to install and maintain – uses ambient air to dissipate heat from the refrigerant through condenser coils – suitable for smaller applications or where space is limited.
Water cooled chillers – higher efficiency and better cooling performance for larger applications – water absorbs heat from the refrigerant, the heated water is then cooled and recirculated.
