Annual Servicing

F&R Products Ltd will attend your site once a year to service all your industrial cooling equipment, carry out all essential checks including a refrigerant leak check to enable you to comply with the regulation mentioned above.

Preventative Maintenance Service Contracts

It is generally recommended that you have your equipment serviced twice per annum. This has the added advantage of ensuring condenser is clean and hence unit is operating efficiently drawing the least amount of energy to achieve full cooling capacity.

IMPORTANT – Refrigerant R22

The Law

EU Regulation 517-2014

You should check for refrigeration equipment still using R22 refrigerant on your premises.

As of 1 January 2015 R22 can no longer be purchased or used to recharge systems.  Equipment utilising R22 can continue to be used but should there be a problem with the system R22 cannot be used to recharge the equipment.

F&R Products Ltd are REFCOM approved and are able to offer a solution to this problem; simply replace R22 with a drop-in refrigerant for a fraction of the cost of a new chiller.  OK, there is a small price to pay in that these refrigerants are slightly less efficient but many water chillers are oversized duty-wise so there is often capacity to spare.

EU Regulation 517/2014 controlling the use of ozone depleting substances requires all refrigeration systems using refrigerants such as R407C, R410A, R134A etc. with a charge equivalent to 5 tonnes CO2e equivalent to approximately 5kg refrigerant) or more to be checked annually for refrigerant leaks by a qualified person.
